Senetti® has recently been renamed pericallis hybrida it is part of the daisy family.
Pericallis is a member of the Compositae family. Generally it is grown as an annual, but it is a perennial by nature and is grown for its daisy-like flower heads. Formally known as Cineraria x hybrida before re classification.
Senetti® is a plant for early spring patio containers bred by Suntory. Senettiâ ®produces a tough bushy plant with compact habit and foliage plus large flowers of strong bright colours.
Senetti® will tolerate low temperatures outside down to as low as zero ºC (32F) sheltered patio situation, our experience is that it is very tolerant of typical English Spring weather.
Production is far more suited to cooler weather but this is not always possible in warmer climates as at times of the year when hot weather is dominant at the time of mother stock production, plants will suffer in high temperatures.
Higher temperatures will effect the flower timing, as Pericallis is known for requiring a period of Vernalization (cool period) before flowering will commence and some colours require shorter cool periods to initiate flowering than others.
